...If atoms can be birthed from long-gone stars whose signatures we still trace in every night sky,
and if these atoms can come together to form something as complex and compassionate as a human being, then maybe we too can join hands, make some new and sacred thing that will save us all.
James Crews, Community
Groups
Facilitated support groups for grief, loss, and emotional growth — compassionate community-based spaces for healing and connection.
You might consider a group if you...
are moving through grief, loss, or significant change
-
want support but don’t want weekly individual therapy
-
are looking for support that is more cost-effective or even free of charge
-
value shared reflection and listening
-
are drawn to contemplative, body-based, or meaning-oriented approaches
-
want to feel less alone without being pushed to share
-
are interested in a focused course on Internal Family Systems or other modalities
In every group, we aim to create a safe, predictable space with gentle structure and choice. Groups vary depending on the focus and topic, but in all groups you can expect a blend of education, prompts for reflection, and opportunities to share. Groups have a consistent structure, with an opening and closing, space to speak as well as permission to pass, a facilitator who helps hold safety, pacing, and tone, and respect for diversity, privacy, and boundaries.

Facilitation
Some groups are facilitated by both Willie Kunert (a grief and end-of-life counselor) and Laura Geller (a licensed independent social worker), others just by one of them in collaboration with other providers. Both Laura and Willie have extensive experience holding group spaces in therapeutic, contemplative, and community settings.
Groups are supportive community spaces, not individual therapy. If you need individualized support, feel free to reach out.
Confidentiality is emphasized, though not legally guaranteed in groups.
