I offer individual psychotherapy for adults as a licensed independent social worker (LISW) in Ohio and Maine. Psychotherapy is a confidential, regulated healthcare service that supports emotional wellbeing, psychological healing, and greater ease in daily life.

People often come to therapy when something feels stuck, painful, or overwhelming — when familiar patterns no longer work, or when emotional distress begins to interfere with relationships, work, or a sense of meaning.

Therapy provides a steady, supportive space to explore these experiences with care and curiosity.

What brings people to therapy

Psychotherapy can be helpful if you are experiencing:

• Anxiety, chronic stress, or feeling overwhelmed
• Depression, low mood, or emotional numbness
• The impact of past experiences or trauma
• Relationship or attachment difficulties
• Grief, loss, or major life transitions
• Repeating patterns that feel hard to change
• A sense of disconnection from yourself or others

You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy — but therapy is especially appropriate when distress or symptoms are affecting your day-to-day functioning.

How I work

My approach to therapy is relational, attentive, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you can slow down, feel met, and begin to understand your inner experience more clearly.

I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Buddhist psychology including mindfulness, and somatic trauma-oriented approaches. Together, we work with thoughts, emotions, bodily experience, and relational patterns to support understanding, regulation, and meaningful change over time.

While therapy may sometimes touch on spiritual or contemplative themes, psychotherapy is distinct from coaching and is oriented toward mental health care and emotional wellbeing.

Practical details

Psychotherapy sessions are 55 minutes and typically take place weekly or biweekly, and can be in-person or virtual.

Fee: $140 per session

I am in network with Aetna, Medical Mutual and CareSource. For other companies I can provide a superbill for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance. Coverage varies depending on your plan.

Choosing between therapy and coaching

Psychotherapy may be the best fit if you are experiencing ongoing emotional distress, mental health symptoms, trauma-related concerns, or difficulties that significantly impact your life.

IFS coaching is a non-clinical offering and may be more appropriate if you are generally functioning well and are seeking focused support with inner conflicts, meditation blocks, or personal or spiritual growth.

If you’re unsure which option fits your needs, you’re welcome to reach out and we can think it through together.
